The right to wellbeing and movement belongs to everyone
Our objective is to increase movement for all age groups so that everyone would move enough from the point of view of their health and wellbeing. Everyone should have equal opportunities to participate in the physical exercise culture. Particularly the opportunities for exercise of those in the most vulnerable situation, such as unemployed, disabled or elderly people, must be increased. Making exercise possible for all, irrespective of their background, is a value judgement. Services should be accessible and available to all. Also persons with reduced mobility and disabled persons shall be able to take part in these services.
SDP wants to even out inequalities related to leisure activities. The challenge is often in the costliness and goal orientation of hobbies, which, for families with children, means investing a great deal of time in the hobby. According to the Report on Sports Policy, the demand for more informal club activities is increasing. For this reason, the development support for sports clubs should be directed to generating low-threshold leisure activities.
