We will ensure disabled persons’ right to inclusion
SDP wants Finland to be a disability-friendly country. A good society takes everyone into account and enables inclusion for everyone. For disabled persons, the right to inclusion is incomplete. In the coming government term, several actions are required to remedy these shortcomings. Reporting on the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities must be developed. Finland needs a national strategy for the rights of persons with disabilities so that disability impact assessment, disability budgeting, and inclusion of disabled persons are achieved.
Disability and equality impact assessment must be part of all decision-making on the municipal, wellbeing services county and national levels. Equality and accessibility must be considered in all operations and decision-making.
Disabled persons must have the right to be heard in decision-making concerning themselves and their community. All disabled persons must be ensured full inclusion in the organisation of services concerning them.
