I am a passionate professional with over a decade of experience in energy systems, sustainability, academia, and consultancy. I hold a D.Sc. in Energy Systems and have dedicated my career to finding innovative solutions that address economic, environmental, and social challenges.
As a resident of Lappeenranta, I believe in the city’s potential to become a model for inclusivity, sustainability, and economic growth. My vision includes fostering integration by improving multilingual services and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all residents. I aim to prioritize renewable energy projects that reduce costs and promote sustainability, ensuring that locally produced energy benefits the entire community.
Employment is a cornerstone of my plan, with a focus on attracting corporations for long-term operations, supporting remote workers settling in Lappeenranta, and creating stable job opportunities. I hope to contribute to a thriving connected Lappeenranta where everyone feels empowered.
Minulle tärkeää
A Welcoming City to Foster Integration and Inclusion
Lappeenranta should foster integration by creating a welcoming atmosphere and improving multilingual services (Arabic, English, Russian and Ukrainian) to enhance accessibility. Collaboration with NGOs and incoming volunteers will develop the level of local events to make them more inclusive. Upgraded camping facilities attract international visitors. A user-friendly app enables residents to point out areas needing improvement, helping city personnel addressing them for the community benefit.
Local and Affordable Renewable Energy with an Improved Land and Air Transportation System
Lappeenranta should focus on locally produced renewable energy to reduce costs and promote sustainability, with transmission fees tied to production costs and discounts for locally sourced electricity. Transportation initiatives include expanding electric buses, introducing on-demand buses, and enhancing Lappeenranta Airport with daily flights to Helsinki and Lapland. These efforts attract international tourists and remote workers, improving connectivity and strengthening the local economy.
Boosting Employment and Attracting Corporations
Lappeenranta should prioritize employment by encouraging corporations to establish long-term operations in the city. Free office spaces for companies hiring local residents and tax benefits for companies recruiting employees from diverse backgrounds will foster stable job opportunities. Attracting remote workers and skilled professionals, along with housing incentives for relocated employees, will drive economic growth and position Lappeenranta as a thriving hub for employment.
